Privacy at a glance
  • Bonus Trace, based in Malta, is the data controller for bonustrace.com.
  • You can browse, filter and compare casino offers without an account or telling us who you are.
  • We don't sell your personal data and we don't use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
  • When you click through to a casino, that casino handles your data under its own privacy policy.
  • You can access, correct or delete your data, and complain to Malta's data protection authority, the IDPC.

Who we are

BonusTrace (bonustrace.com) is an independent casino and casino-bonus comparison website operated by Bonus Trace, Malta. For the purposes of the GDPR, Bonus Trace is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@bonustrace.com. Given the size and nature of our processing, we have not appointed a Data Protection Officer; privacy requests are handled directly by the Bonus Trace team.

What this Privacy Policy covers

This policy applies to bonustrace.com and any pages, tools and calculators we publish on it. It does not cover the websites of casinos, affiliate networks or other third parties that we link to. Once you leave BonusTrace, the privacy policy of the site you visit applies, so please read it before you register or deposit.

Personal data we collect

When you browse BonusTrace

Like almost every website, our servers automatically record technical information when you visit a page. This “log data” includes your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page you requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. It is created by our web hosting provider and is used to deliver the site and keep it secure.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and browser-storage items, for example to remember your compare list or your language choice. The full list, and how to control them, is in our Cookie Policy.

Choices you make on the site

Your filters, sort order, compare selections and language preference are stored on your own device so the site works the way you set it. They contain the IDs of the casinos or offers you selected, not your name or contact details.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you provide and the content of your message, including any attachments.

When you click an affiliate link

Buttons such as “View bonus” or “Visit casino” may contain a tracking reference that tells the casino the visit came from BonusTrace. The casino or its affiliate network may later send us reports with aggregated or pseudonymous figures, such as the number of clicks, sign-ups or first deposits and the commission due. These reports do not include your name, casino account details or payment information, and we cannot use them to identify you.

Data we don’t collect

We don’t ask for identity documents, payment card details or casino login details, and we don’t knowingly collect special-category data such as health information. Please don’t send us this information by email.

Third-party services we use

We use a limited number of service providers to run BonusTrace. Each one only receives the data needed for its task.

  • Web hosting provider – stores the website and its server logs on our behalf as a data processor, under a data processing agreement.
  • Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) – some fonts are loaded from Google’s servers, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads. Google Fonts does not set cookies. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Google Translate (via our translation plugin) – if you switch the site into another language, page text and your IP address are processed by Google to provide the translation.
  • flagcdn.com – country flags in our country selector are loaded from this image service, which receives your IP address.
  • WordPress.org – some emoji images are loaded from WordPress.org servers (s.w.org), which receive your IP address.
  • Casinos and affiliate networks – when you follow a link to a casino, the casino and any affiliate network involved become independent controllers of the data they collect from you.

We don’t sell personal data, and we don’t share it with advertisers or data brokers.

International data transfers

Some providers, such as Google, may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is protected either because the provider participates in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, together with any additional safeguards the provider applies.

How long we keep your data

DataHow long we keep it
Server log dataFor a short period set by our hosting provider, and no longer than 30 days unless we need it to investigate a security incident or abuse
Emails and correspondenceUp to 24 months after our last contact, unless we need to keep them longer to deal with a complaint or legal claim
Cookies and device storageUntil they expire or you delete them – see our Cookie Policy

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access – ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification – ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure – ask us to delete your data where there’s no good reason for us to keep it.
  • Restriction – ask us to pause the use of your data, for example while we check its accuracy.
  • Data portability – receive data you gave us in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection – object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent – where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing.

To use any of these rights, email hello@bonustrace.com. It’s free, and we’ll reply within one month. In complex cases we may extend this by up to two further months and will tell you why. We may ask you for information to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

How to complain

If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. Our lead authority in Malta is:

Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC)
Floor 2, Airways House, Triq Il-Kbira, Tas-Sliema SLM 1549, Malta
Website: idpc.org.mt · Email: idpc.info@idpc.org.mt · Phone: +356 2328 7100

If you live elsewhere in the EU or EEA, you can also complain to the authority in your own country.

Children

BonusTrace is intended only for adults who are at least 18 years old, or older where local law sets a higher gambling age. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we’ll delete it.

How we protect your data

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, access to our systems is limited to people who need it, and we keep our software and plugins up to date. No website can be completely secure, but we work to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

Automated decisions and profiling

Our filters, sorting options, ratings and calculators simply arrange and calculate information based on the choices you make. We don’t use them to make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects, and we don’t build marketing profiles of visitors.

Marketing emails

We don’t currently send newsletters or marketing emails. If we introduce them, we’ll only send them to people who have clearly opted in, every email will include an unsubscribe link, and anyone who opts out of gambling marketing will not receive promotional offers from us.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this policy when our website, our service providers or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. If we make significant changes, we’ll highlight them on this page.

BonusTrace is an independent information and comparison website operated by Bonus Trace, Malta. We are not a gambling operator and do not accept bets or hold player funds. Some links are affiliate links: we may earn a commission if you sign up with a casino, at no extra cost to you, and this never affects our ratings. Bonus offers are subject to each casino’s own terms and may not be available in your country. Gambling involves risk and can be addictive, so only gamble with money you can afford to lose. 18+ only.
